Aldrich Sphaler - Back in Texas - yay!!! Has one opening available for training!!!
Aldrich's Bio
Aldrich has 10 years of horse training experience. He trains in a wide variety of disciplines such as; Dressage, Hunter/jumper, Reining, Pleasure and he's competed in Endurance racing in 25 and 30 mile races. He also offers lessons (one free with a month's training).
Aldrich has been fortunate to work under a number of skilled professional trainers such as Debbie Lavallee, Kia Hadt, David Loissel as well as few others. He uses a mixture of natural horsemanship and classical training to turn horses in to comfortable, safe riding partners.
Lots of Aldrich's training came from his own horses Red and Sonny who have crossed over the rainbow bridge. They taught him many things both in life and training. He learned balance, control (both horse and temper), patience and what a true partner a horse can be.
Aldrich can provide excellent up to date references, (including mine), so whether you want to start your horse, get a 30 day refresher or teach your horse new skills - give Aldrich a call and reserve a spot today!
Aldrich says;
"It has been said you can lean a lot from watching and paying attention to the smallest of detail. I spent most of my time out with my horses just watching them eat and interact with each other. I watched how they established leaderships in the herd and how they've played (learning to be a horse in a sense). If you want to learn something in a foreign country it is best to learn the language. Through this and some help from a few excellent trainers I have been able to make good horses better horses and bad riders into better riders. I don't believe there are any bad horses."
Aldrich LOVES to talk about horses, especially his own!
"My horses are: Barabbas (Anglo Shagya Arabian), Scarlett (Arabian) and Remingtion (3/4 friesian 1/4 paint). Barabbas came to me from one of my best trainers and teachers David Loissel. He passed away in Augest of 2010 R.I.P you will be missed greatly! He taught me a lot about control both body and horse, showing me classical schooling in a way horses know and undersand, he improved my riding and my understanding of my horses and myself greatly."
"I got Scarlett on a rescue that I did a few years back for bluebonnet horse rescue. I got her out of a small group of starving horses... well let me take that back she found me. I am the only one who can catch her or do much of anything with her. When I first got her I stayed in her stall with her for about two days and worked with her as much as I could. Now when I go to see her she nickers at me and wants lot of hugs and sctraches."
"Remington came from a lady that I did some trading with, I got Remy for training three of her other horses. At first when I saw him he was the cutiest ugliest horse I have ever seen. He was skinny, his face was long,his neck was thin and to top off big feet and long legs. After some good food and a little time he has turned in to a handsome Stalllion 1 year old and standing 15hh. He is an in your pocket pony and very well loved."
Aldrich is currently training at a beautiful facility in Denton, TX. All horses in training get a roomy box stall that is cleaned daily, hay and feed twice daily, and turnout. There is an indoor arena to ride in when you come visit your horse. Rates are $650.00 currently but will be going up fall 2011 - so reserve your spot now! Aldrich will only take a maximum of 5 horses at a time and currently has several openings.
Aldrich can be reached at 903-821-7902 or you can email him at littleredspecial16@yahoo.com
